ere we are, standing in front of the island Bequia (pronounced beck-way) in the Grenades, for which we named our 40 foot sports fishing vessel. The island is pristine, sleek and has a rich past. It is said to be the birth place of Queegquay, from the legendary tale of Moby Dick, and hosts pods of whales year round. We fell in love with the sound of the name and its history.

Ron Santonastasi, Captain and President, has spent his whole life fishing the Atlantic, Pacific, Caribbean Oceans. Before he was old enough to ride a bicycle, he would go with his father to fish in Long Island Sound and never remembers not having a boat or going fishing.

Ron holds a Coast Guard Master’s license and has spent the last 20 years fishing and mastering the Monterey Bay National Sanctuary Reserve in California. Within that same time period, he held a management position based in Silicon Valley in the electronics industry. Here he formed many strong relationships within both the fishing and boating community as well as the business sector.

Ron and his wife/partner, Jennie, live in the small, beautiful community of Capitola by the Sea, California. The ocean is their love, and their desire to enrich others lives with the beauty of the Monterey Bay National Sanctuary Reserve is an exciting one for both of them.

Jennie Santonastasi, partner, wife and marketing manager of Park Place Excursions has over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing with Silicon Valley companies. Her role is to introduce the services that Park Place Excursions offers, and add those extra touches that, as we know, make an exciting adventure even MORE special.
